About Carlos Toro

Carlos Toro runs a successful wholesale grocery business in Puerto Rico called Oscar Cash & Carry (twitter.com/OscarCashCarry) owned by his parent’s-in-law who founded the business one month after their only daughter was born (way back in 1974). The business has an awesome wine store called La Cava de Oscar (twitter.com/LaCavadeOscar) that Carlos wants to turn into the top wine store in Puerto Rico. There is also a meat processing plant called Quality Meats and a very cool marketing program for small and medium size independent grocery stores called Supermercados El Criollazo (twitter.com/SupElCriollazo).

Carlos likes to read and tumbl (and tweet) about wine, sports, photography, the food industry, Puerto Rico economy (and politics), investing, entrepreneurship, social media, and funny stuff.

Carlos was born and raised in Puerto Rico, studied at Boston College (BS) and University of Michigan (MBA) and has worked at Motorola, Microsoft, Banco Popular de Puerto Rico, the Puerto Rico Tourism Company, and currently at Oscar Cash & Carry.
